Rosarian Academy Promotes Linda Trethewey to Head of School for 2018-2019 Academic Year

Rosarian Academy Board of Directors announced the promotion of Mrs. Linda Trethewey as Rosarian Academy’s new Head of School effective July 1, 2018.

Mrs. Trethewey currently serves as Rosarian Academy’s Middle School Principal.

“Her attention to detail, experience, background and commitment to Catholicism and faith-based education are a perfect fit for Rosarian,” said Tim Hanlon, Chairman of the Board.

Mrs. Trethewey joined Rosarian in July 2017 with 25 years of experience as a teacher and administrator in both elementary and middle school classrooms.  She served as assistant principal in both the Maryland Public School System and the Archdiocese of Miami, including 10 years at St. Bonaventure Catholic School in Davie, FL. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Chatham University,  a Masters Degree in Supervision and Administration from Towson University and is currently a doctoral candidate in Management and Supervision at St. Thomas University.

The Board, search committees, and Adrian Dominican Sisters General Council unanimously recommended and approved Mrs. Trethewey for the position.  “We are fortunate and blessed to have Mrs. Trethewey continue the great work done over the last 93 years and to lead Rosarian Academy into the future,” announced Hanlon.

Linda Trethewey and her husband, Scott, reside in Ft. Lauderdale and have four children. Outside of school duties and managing her family, Mrs. Trethewey has served as a volunteer and committee member for Healthy Mother’s Healthy Babies since 2014. She was recently nominated for “Mother of the Year” and was selected as one of five mothers in Broward County to receive this honor at an upcoming luncheon in May.

Rosarian Academy, founded in 1925, educates students from early childhood through eighth grade and offers an exceptionally strong academic program enriched by athletics, visual and performing arts, and community service opportunities. The independent, Catholic school is located on Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach and is sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Bus service is available throughout Palm Beach County.
