Cub Scout Pack 141 to Include Girls

In Wake of Historic Boy Scouts of America Announcement, Rosarian Academy’s Cub Scout Pack 141 Holds Pack Meeting Tonight, 10.12.17

WHAT:

In the wake of the Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors unanimous approval to welcome girls into its Cub Scout program, local Cub Scout Pack 141 will hold its second pack meeting of the year tonight at Rosarian Academy at 6:30 pm.

Although Pack 141 has a year to discuss and figure out how to best implement the inclusion of girls, the pack  has always been inclusive of the entire family, especially sisters. At tonight’s meeting, Cubmaster Timothy Murphy will acknowledge the announcement and show the Pack’s support of this new initiative. “We are ready. We used to say, ‘We’re building men here!’ Now we can say, ‘We’re building leaders!’” said Mr. Murphy.

Cub Scout Pack 141 is in its 26th year operating under the charter of Rosarian Academy. There are currently 181 pack members, and the den and pack leaders look forward to its future growth as the opportunity for character development and the values of scouting—trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent—are extended to young girls.
