Strategic Plan
The Board of Directors and Administration of Rosarian Academy are committed to the oversight of continuous improvement of the educational environment of the school. As such, they periodically conduct and approve a Strategic Plan. In August 2009, various members from our stakeholder groups met for a two day period to enter into conversation about the next three to five years of growth for our school. Faculty and staff also participated in this conversation as they engaged the process for accreditation. Parents, faculty, and staff completed surveys providing data that were used in these conversations.
From these conversations, a draft strategic plan was presented to the Board of Directors on December 1, 2009. The proposed plan was unanimously accepted. Below are the five major categories along with the goals and rationale.
I. CATHOLIC MISSION AND IDENTITY
GOAL: Rosarian Academy will continue to operate as an Independent school in the Catholic Dominican tradition. This foundation will permeate all aspects of the curriculum and student life, emphasizing Catholic teachings, addressing the spiritual growth of students of all faiths, fostering a spirit of community service and leadership.
RATIONALE: Rosarian Academy is a Catholic school welcoming students of all faiths. We are grounded in the charism of the Adrian Dominican Sisters and the Dominican foundations of study, prayer, community, and action.
II. PROGRAM AND PLANT
GOAL: Rosarian Academy will build upon its legacy of superior education utilizing its state of the art facilities. This educational experience provides a foundation for life, and addresses the formation of the whole child.
RATIONALE: Providing a foundation for life (a) encourages students to make a positive difference in their environment by providing a strong moral and spiritual foundation; (b) prepares students for success at the next academic level; (c) promotes a well-rounded competitive and creative individual; (d) maintains the viability of the school; (e) attracts and retains quality students and faculty.
III. ENROLLMENT AND MARKETING
GOAL: Rosarian Academy will be fully enrolled with a culturally and geographically diverse student body.
RATIONALE: It is important to have a student body that is strong in number, and rich in diversity to provide a foundation for life.
IV. SCHOOL LEADERSHIP
GOAL 1: The Board of Trustees of Rosarian Academy will be diverse in experience and perspective, and representative of the school and local community.
RATIONALE: Responsible for the governance at the local level, the Board will be well-informed, fully engaged in setting broad school policy, and setting the tone for the school culture.
GOAL 2: Rosarian Academy will support an administration, faculty, and staff that adhere to the highest standards, promote Catholic values and attitudes, and effectively communicate with the school community.
RATIONALE: The quality if the school is directly dependent on the quality of the administration, the faculty, and the staff.
GOAL 3: Rosarian Academy will educate its students to be productive American citizens and leaders in the 21st century who seek truth, make peace, and reverence life.
RATIONALE: The world needs leaders raised with these values.
V. STEWARDSHIP
GOAL: Rosarian Academy will promote and sustain a culture of philanthropy and good stewardship thus nurturing relationships with specific groups to promote growth and ensure financial viability.
RATIONALE: Such stewardship and relationships will ensure an environment that provides a foundation for life for our children.
